The historical alliance between Saudi Arabia and Iran

The decision by Iran a shia majority country and Saudi Arabia a sunni majority country to reestablish ties after decades of sectarian rivalry is by far the most important event in the recent history of the Islamic world.

Because of this artificially created and deliberately flamed sectarian animosity that started somewhat with the Iranian revolution in 1979 and escalated further with Arab Spring uprising and to total severing of ties with provoking actions in early 2016, major part of the middle east remained in a state of war, politically unstable, severe economic crises, and away from needed necessary progress and prosperity. It is also because of this conflict many jihadist radical organizations emerged in the region, who inflicted even more brutality on their own people and gave Western power a pretext to invade internally weakened Muslim countries and label them as having offensive ideology.

Western countries instead of making reconciliatory efforts only flamed the fire, they supported one side against the other weakening the ties even more and supplying weapons to both sides. Many middle eastern countries with shia sunni populations Iraq, Syria, Bahrain Lebanon were devastated and Yemen suffered the most. Thousands of people died in civil war, proxy wars and air strikes, with hunger, family, malnutrition, and with outbreaks of deadly diseases. The magnitude of suffering and devastation that this conflict has caused in the Middle East is difficult to fathom. It is because of this conflict the Muslim minorities living in other parts of the world couldn't be saved from the oppression they were subjected to. Sufferings upon suffering continue to befall them. If only Muslims had followed God's commandment to remain united, this situation and all the bloodshed that came along could have been averted.

Now that efforts are being made to restore ties, it should also be ensured that no such sinful distance ever take place again. Both Shia and Sunni are Muslim brothers, who believe in the same God, follow the same religion, Islam, hold dear same prophet and his family, follow the same qibla, and read the same Quran. Any attempts to sow seeds of discords should be made futile by both countries. The unification of Iran and Saudi Arabia will help bring peace to all the Muslim countries, all the conflicts that were being originated because of this false Division will come to an end. Yemeni people who had become prey of this sinful conflict that only benefited people of warmongering nature will hopefully come to an end, the people of Yemen will again see their country heading toward prosperity. The attacks that had been happening in the mosques taking away lives of will also come to an end. A prosper era is awaiting as long as Muslims remain united and live by His command. Allah will bestow abundance upon them.
