The rightful struggle of the people of Kashmir

Kashmir is among the most beautiful places in the world but this beautiful place has been turned into the largest and most militarized conflict zone on earth. Since the inception of Pakistan and India as independent states, the Kashmir matter has been left unresolved. The Muslim population of Kashmir which was in the majority wanted to be with Pakistan, but the then ruler ignored the will of the Kashmiris and granted accession of Kashmir to India in exchange for security. The people of Kashmir have been oppressed since then. The unresolved Kashmir dispute is also the main cause of hate and enmity between India and Pakistan, leaving the whole region in decades of restlessness. Despite the UNSC's call for a referendum in early 1948 which would have resolved the dispute and would have decided the matter for Kashmiris, it was never conducted, any uprising and demand for self-determination resulted in horrific human rights abuses, killings, and repressions. And esp after the unilateral revocation of their autonomy, on 5 August 2019, life was made even more unbearable for Kashmiris, the media blackout in the region also left the whole world in the dark about the current situation of Kashmiri people. It is feared that their demography is also being silently altered. It is now upon the Muslim countries and the international community to make efforts to safeguard the lives of the Kashmiri people. The Kashmiri people also need to now abstain from any uprising, already more than 75,000 lives have been lost, and each life is precious in the sight of Allah, they should Therefore proceed with the matter legally, taking it to the Indian courts and having enough representatives that would internationalize this matter in the UN to pave the way for a fair plebiscite, all Muslim countries should also be backing Kashmir in their rightful struggle. Meanwhile, the Indian government should not rule over people who do not want to be on either side unless a plebiscite is done. True democracies don't rule by force but win over hearts and minds. They make sure every citizen under their rule gets equal and fair treatment and is pleased and well comfortable. I'm sure if India pledges that, and allows the people of Kashmir to decide for themselves, there will be peace again in the whole South Asian region, and it will become the most prosperous region in the whole world.
