Unwavering Spirit of Brotherhood is the Key to National and Global Peace

Over the past few years, Pakistan has faced significant upheavals marked by continuous political instability, economic recession, soaring inflation, dwindling reserves, injustice, and a surge in terrorist attacks. The overall situation of the whole country was no more than in outright anarchy, especially after the arrest of Imran Khan in 2023 and the subsequent vandalization incident that resulted in the arrest of many other opposition members and workers, a sort of restlessness prevailed in the whole country, with army also being dragged and blamed for interference. The impression to other countries wasn't good at all either; Pakistan appeared to them as weak, crisis-stricken, internally divided, and an easy prey.

However, after the illegal and nefarious attacks from India on 7th May, which claimed the lives of many innocent people and many military personnel, the nation immediately realized that there was a much bigger adversary around, one that did not differentiate between internal factions and was hostile to the whole nation. At once, all the political parties and the army were on the same page, and the nation was together with them, supporting the army with all their might and enthusiasm. Morale was so high, and the retaliation, which had become necessary for the time being, turned out to be the biggest success for Pakistan. Pakistan showed its military strength without any undue aggression during the operation Bunyan-un-Marsos, inspired from the Quranic verse symbolizing strength "like a well-built wall". The response was so befitting that the US, which had absolved itself of any responsibility prior to retaliation, immediately came to the rescue and brokered a ceasefire, which, by the mercy of Allah, is a good thing for the people of both countries.

Admirably, the unity Pakistani political parties, the nation, and the army displayed when the attack happened is, however, the unity Allah has instructed Muslims to maintain consistently all the time.

Allah says in the holy Quran:

"Do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength would depart, and be patient.." (Surah Anfal, 46);            "And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided." (Surah Al-Imran, 103)

Nations that are not internally at peace become vulnerable to all kinds of domestic problems and foreign threats, and exploitations. To prevent disputes and instigation and to handle every matter with strength and dignity, internal unity and solidarity are of paramount importance.

Our politicians are all Pakistanis, and by the mercy of Allah, they are all Muslims too. They all want goodness for Pakistan in their own ways from their own perspectives; they cannot be enemies to one another, nor should they exhaust their strength in fighting one another. Both the ruling party and the opposition are equally valuable: one serves the nation by instating better policies and facilitating the lives of its citizens, and the other keeps a check and makes the services better. If any disagreement arises, an ideological yet compassionate way of correction should be adopted, considering that they are our Muslim brothers; any words or actions that might lead to discord and divisions ought to be avoided.

If our politicians embody this spirit of internal unity and work together, all the deep-rooted problems like sectarianism, radicalism, terrorism, and many others, which not only continue to harm Pakistani people but also tarnish Pakistan's image abroad, will be readily overcome.

The aim of this internal unity should be to achieve an excellent code of conduct which includes justice for all and implementation of good moral values, advancement in science and technology, with great emphasis on art and beauty. Pakistan can then emerge as a nation exemplary in all noble spheres of life, and will thus become a source of peace and aspiration for all neighbouring countries as well.

Moreover, at present, the whole world is experiencing profound turmoil, particularly Muslims, who are subjected to unthinkable cruelty and mistreatment in various regions of the world. Forming unity with other Muslim countries acting as one Ummah, which is a religious obligation, will give Muslims the needed strength to put an effective end to all the persecution and to bring peace, happiness, and justice to the otherwise currently dark and gloomy world. Once this unwavering unity both internally and between Muslim countries is achieved, no harm will come near the whole Muslim world, and the Muslim world will not let any harm come to the world. And thus the words of Allah will also come true, where Allah says, "Verily, I and my Messengers will certainly prevail." (Surah Mujadilah, 21)

May the spirit of brotherhood among our people live on and expand further among Muslim nations, ushering in an era of everlasting global peace and justice for everyone in the world.
